Asian Gardens

There are many styles that fall into the broad category of Asian gardens. Some of these are Bonsai, tea ceremony, raked gravel, Japanese and Zen gardens. They are all different in many ways. They can be completely dry with no plants at all, just rock and gravel. They can all so be composed of water with a few moss-covered rocks protruding from below the surface. Whatever the style, Asian Gardens have one thing in common; they are considered places of contemplation, serenity and solitude. Asian Gardens are often based on cultural philosophies like balance. In Chinese gardens balance is shown by using the male yin and the female yang, to create equilibrium that in return crates the soothing atmosphere of an Asian garden. All Asian gardens are created to have a symbolic role I the landscape.
